VEGETARIAN FOOD 7 (Restoran Cafe De Sky Garden)

My good friend brought me here for lunch.  This restaurant is the sister restaurant of Tian Yuan Cafe.  They serve Chinese and Western cuisine.

I especially loved the Vietnamese Rice Noodles.

Hong Kong (3) - Macau

The day before flying back, off we went to Macau via ferry from Kowloon.  The journey took us about one hour or so.

We made a good decision by getting a local guide, no need the hassle of looking at the map for directions etc.  The first place the guide took us was the resort The Wynn, he just told us to go in and watch the show (it was not in our own itinerary), glad he took us there.

There are two types of display of light, visual and audio - The Tree of Prosperity and Dragon of Fortune - and what you see here is the Tree of Prosperity.

And what not to be missed if you are in Macau is to watch the show - The House of Dancing Water - at the City of Dreams.   What a fantastic and superb show.

But be forewarned for those in the first few rows in front of the pool cum stage you might get a little wet but don't worry towels are provided :).  The show is worth the price of the ticket.

After lunch at the Po Lin Monastery's restaurant, off we return back to meet with the rest for the next destination, The Peak and Madame Tussauds' wax museum.

As it was a public holiday (dumpling festival), it was packed at the viewing station.

Ngong Ping 360, Lantau Island, Hong Kong

Success on our second attempt (the first time we went there it was near the closing time).  The magnificent Tian Tan Buddha near Po Lin Monastery.

 Ngong Ping 360 has several attractions - cable car (5.7 km), cultural village, Tian Tan Buddha statue (situated beside the Po Lin Monastery, etc.

 The above 2 photos are taken from the inside of the crystal cable car.  We opted to go to Ngong Ping by using the standard cable car while using the crystal cable car during the return journey.

AMAZING THAI CULTURAL EVENING

Firstly a thank you to my sister for inviting me to "Amazing Thai Cultural Evening" held at Dewan Sri Pinang, Georgetown, Penang.

The birth of the civilization and culture of the Thai people is depicted in dances from the different regions example north and central.

Was invited to a birthday lunch at Suffolk House.  It is a great place and a heritage site being the former residence of Francis Light.

VEGETARIAN FOOD 6 ("LOVECIPES VINTAGE CAFE")

Another choice is available for vegetarians as "Lovecipes Vintage Cafe" opened its doors about 2 months ago in Penang, heard the proprietor mentioned that it's just a soft opening.  The cafe is located at No. 42 Rangoon Road, 10400 Penang.  

I understand from the staff, the menu has some nonya items in it.  For example in one of the item - rice with curry - they use "krisek" (I remember that because my mom used to cook this type of curry).  Do ask what is the special for the day, which is not found in the menu.

Why the name "Vintage Cafe"?  Well see the photos below.

 The cafe are decorated with ancient and antique bags, doors, plates, photos, bicycle wheel etc. and also Chinese oldies are played in the outlet.

During my next visit I will try the rice with curry (cooked with "krisek").

The cafe is opened from Tuesday to Sunday and the operating hours are 11am to 10pm.
