Youth Culinary Arts Exchange 2009

The return of the chefs (gods of cookery??). Last time they came was on 31/Aug/2008 - HERE. They came and cook up a storm. There are all together 4 teams. They are required to prepare 3 dishes made up of rice, chinese cabbage & tofu and 1 dessert. Then it will depend on their creativity, to prepare the 3 dishes and 1 dessert all within 3 hours. After preparing the dishes and dessert, they will be judged based on inter alia taste, creativity and display. During the judging by the 3 judges one representative is required to give a presentation or explanation of why they have chosen this particular name for each of the dishes and the dessert and how it relates to cultivation of Dao.

"DU JING RE" (RECITATION OF SUTRA/CLASSIC DAY)

It was 'du jing re' (June) at Tian Wei Fo Tang and a test was conducted to test the children memory. They were very hardworking in trying to memorize the classics/sutras. These is the time when they are absorbing things, so let it be good things they absorbed.

Cameron Highlands

The last time I went to Cameron Highlands was ages ago. So for my holiday I and KLMa, GLYeoh, WYGoh, SKTan, KLLee & CYLee went to Cameron Highlands during the Awal Muharam holiday (ie. 28 & 29/Dec/2008). We drove up there using Simpang Pulai way.

The weather is good, cool and breezy, but it rain. Visited a few places (Bharath Tea Plantation, evening market, cactus & strawberry farm, Blue Valley, ..... ), many more places to visit but not enough time, stayed one night only. A good place to escape the hectic city life. There is the possibility of going there again in the future.

But be warned try not to go to C/Highlands during public holidays, oh my the J-A-M!!!!!. We wasted nearly 2 hours to reach Brinchang, the jam started about half way up.

Tea break at Bharath Tea Plantation. Brownie (with ice cream) and Masala Tea. Price RM11/-.
